Today, we are excited to share photos from Matt and Kristin’s special day just few weeks ago. Matt and Kristen, who live in Southern Maryland, had their wedding in the center of DC at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. It was a beautiful day with friends and family arriving from all around the US. When we arrived at the hotel, Kristen and her bridesmaids were so relaxed. The flower girls’ energetic and contagious laughter provided lots of entertainment. Kristin had a beautiful detailed lace dress that she knew was the one as soon as she tried it on. And there was a gorgeous pearl necklace with a lovely note that said “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue…Hope you can find a way to use these pearls in your wedding ceremony and then pass them on to the next cousin who marries so that Grandma Roseann is apart of all our special days.” Once Kristin was all ready, she shared a sweet and tearful first look with her dad. She looked absolutely stunning. Meanwhile, the groomsmen were entertaining Matt with an exciting game of Codenames. Once it was time to get ready, they organized and helped one another with the details like tying a tie or folding a handkerchief.
Once everyone was ready, we headed to St. Mary’s Mother of God Catholic Church where the priest performed a very lovely ceremony. It was apparent how much love there was between Matt and Kristen. The smile on Matt’s face widened and brightened the moment he saw Kristin walk down the aisle. And then all throughout the ceremony they shared sweet glances and smiles. Everyone cheered as the newlyweds walked down the aisle.
Although there was rain in the forecast for that day, Matt and Kristin didn’t let that bother them. Thankfully, we always make sure to have a backup plan for the bridal party photos. We went over to Union Station in DC, which was a perfect spot for beautiful photos and protection from the rain. We loved the symmetry and gorgeous archways there.
After the bridal party photos, we headed back to the Grand Hyatt Hotel where the marriage was celebrated with lots of good music and dancing, and of course with heartfelt speeches. The flower girls were showing off their dance moves, splits, and twirls. The ring bearer showing off his hard earned bribery money for smiling for the camera during family formals. We loved capturing all the reactions, smiles, moments, and love in the room. Matt and Kristen, thank you so much for choosing us to document all the memories of your day. We wish you all the best on your new journey together. Congratulations!
