Today, we have the pleasure of sharing photos from Jennifer’s and Peter’s wedding day. Jennifer and Peter have long awaited their special day when friends from around the World and their dearest family would gather together to celebrate them. For their wedding, they chose a beautiful venue in a quiet corner of Southern Maryland – the Woodlawn Farm. Woodlawn Farm is a historic property turned BnB with a detached wedding venue and space for outdoor ceremony.
Arriving at the spot early in the afternoon was refreshing. It was a beautiful sunny day with a little breeze and no clouds. While it did get quite warm at times, the venue had multiple old shade trees that cast plenty of shade that made for good spots to pause and cool down. The large shared areas were also perfect for relaxed photo sessions away from the harsh light of the sun. We started out in the main house and in a cottage, where the bride and groom each spent their morning, respectively. Jennifer and her girls were already at it: having their hair and make-up done and getting into their beautiful dresses. Peter was having a good time catching up with his gang and reminiscing moments from the past. It did not take long for us both to realize that this wedding day was going to be spectacular and filled with beautiful emotional events. For one, already during getting ready the groom shed many tears while telling his close friends how he and Jennifer became engaged.
We love when our couples decide to do a first look – theirs was exceptionally special! They admired each other, chit-chatted, and had a few laughs together. It was one of the most romantic first looks we had ever photographed. Once Jennifer and Peter were ready, we explored the waterfront side of the property and took portraits in a few different spots. Soon thereafter, everyone started preparing for the ceremony. It was an outdoor ceremony set up in the shade cast by a large tree with limbs stretching above the altar. As all the guests and Peter patiently awaited, Jennifer, accompanied by her father, emerged from the house and walked to the altar. Her dad looked proud and her soon-to-be husband looked ecstatic, as Jennifer approached the altar in her beautiful white dress. The ceremony was officiated by Jennifer’s lifelong friend, who did a fantastic job both entertaining the guests as well as allowing ample time for emotions to grow and for happy tears to be shed. We enjoyed this truly heartfelt ceremony.
The only other thing that could come close to that beautiful ceremony was the reception that followed. From the spectacular entrances through the heartfelt speeches and to the energetic dances, the reception was truly outstanding. We witnessed many tears and many laughs as the bride and groom’s family gave emotional speeches. But following the speeches was the first-one yet: the groom performed a quick trivia game with questions that focused on the details of the bride and groom’s life. The questions, and answers, were funny, sweet, and unexpected. We couldn’t help but giggle as we learned fun facts about our couple.
We loved every single moment of Jennifer and Peter’s wedding day. It was a really relaxing day with many emotional moments. We are excited for you two and wish you and your family the most amazing life together on this “new” path.
