Lauren and Jake’s Wedding

  • Lincoln Park wedding portrait.

Every time we talk to another engaged couple, we hear a story that is beautiful, romantic, and unique. And wasn’t that the case with Lauren and Jake!

Lauren and Jake had known each other for many years, they went to school together. They were just friends and after graduating, went in different direction. Lauren’s dream was to work for a humanitarian mission and help people who are in need. And she did it. She spent quite a long time in Bolivia, being at the forefront of the humanitarian missions. It was a long time away from family and friends and a test of all friendships and relationships. While working in that far-away place, she and Jake exchanged many letters. Despite the long time apart and the distance separating them, Jake remained a wonderful friend who continued writing Lauren. That’s how their relationship grew despite all the time and distance that separated them. When Lauren came back to U.S., hers and Jake’s relationship grew closer and closer and eventually, Jake asked Lauren to marry him :).

When we met with them and heard their story, we were in love! It’s romantic, sweet, and really unique. As Lauren and Jake were sharing stories with us, we knew their wedding day would be beautiful and full of emotion.

Both Lauren and Jake were worried that the weather on that Saturday would surprise us with some rain! Luckily, the weather worked out — it was warm and sunny. We spent quite a long time with Lauren and Jake and their moms and Lauren’s sister, Brooke. They were all very sweet. We didn’t feel like it was a job, but we felt connected with them all, and that’s something that we really appreciated. Photographing them was such a pleasure!

Lauren and Jake, you guys were amazing throughout the entire process of working with us. We appreciate you sharing your stories with us and being so considerate on the day of your wedding. The pictures from your day will always bring back great memories!
